The issue of training costs was a real motivating factor for not including the AHA updates this year in Alameda County. The main reason was that the FDs are already doing their own yearly classes for the AHA classes, and since the updated training material won’t be out until next year, the decision was to hold out for implementation of the ‘science’ of the guidelines until next year.

Truth is, for the prehospital setting, very little has changed for us in ALCO since we had implemented cooling in the field, post resuscitation 12-Leads, pit-crew (choreographed) CPR or high-performance CPR models, and we are very close to implementing transport of all ROSC patients to a STEMI center.

I am very keen on getting to the point where the Netherlands study went to get actual data from the monitor to avoid any reporting errors or biases when collecting data for resuscitation research. When ALCO goes completely over to using the LP15 next year, I am sure that we are going to see an improvement to how resuscitation is measured in ALCO.

Can someone provide a link to the disscussed webcast on JEMS about impedence measurement for CPR for QI in the US?
